Senior Environmental Advisor (EIA) – Onshore | 12-Month Contract

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Advisor to support a high-profile energy project within a dynamic HSE environment team. This is a full-time, onshore position offering the opportunity to play a key role in environmental compliance and project delivery.

Role Overview
As a subject matter expert in Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), you will be responsible for ensuring that environmental risks and impacts are properly assessed, managed, and approved prior to project execution. You will act as a key interface between project teams, regulatory authorities, and external consultants to maintain compliance and support sustainable operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the preparation and submission of EIA documentation, including Environmental Statements and impact assessments
  • Coordinate and manage external environmental consultants and review their deliverables
  • Engage with regulatory authorities to define study scopes and ensure timely approvals
  • Participate in project meetings and integrate environmental requirements into project planning
  • Review and revise documentation in response to stakeholder and regulatory feedback
  • Provide expert environmental advice to senior management and project teams
  • Support broader HSE and environmental initiatives as required
  • Contribute to environmental reporting, biodiversity inputs, and performance tracking
  • Assist with tendering processes for environmental consultancy services
  • Promote awareness of environmental processes across the organisation
Requirements
  • Degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Biology, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in environmental management and EIA
  • Strong experience with offshore and/or marine environments is highly desirable
  • Proven ability to manage external consultants and complex documentation processes
  • Experience working with regulatory bodies and environmental approval frameworks
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Additional language skills (e.g. Danish) are an advantage
