Department Description and Responsibilities

The Offshore division is a global solutions provider for the offshore oil, gas, and

renewable energy industries. It has an extensive track record in the transport and

installation of foundations, turbines, inter-array cables, export cables, and substations for offshore wind farms. In the oil and gas sector, expertise includes landfalls and civil works, rock placement, heavy lifting, umbilicals, and installation and decommissioning services. By operating a high-tech and versatile fleet of vessels, the division delivers flexible solutions for complex offshore energy projects worldwide.

 

Primary Tasks and Responsibilities

• Ensure all cable-related operations are executed in the safest and most efficient

manner

• Lead and supervise a team of 10 to 15 personnel, including foremen and

operators

• Conduct shift handover meetings onboard

• Liaise closely with bridge teams and surveyors to ensure optimal cable

operations

• Run and supervise all back-deck operations, including the Cable Installation

System (CIS), ROVs, cranes, and associated equipment

• Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with the highest safety standards

• Safeguard the integrity of the cable during loading, transportation, and

installation phases

• Maintain a daily log of activities performed

• Oversee the full cable installation process, ensuring accurate and secure cable

placement while meeting the highest quality and performance standards

• Apply strong technical expertise to identify and resolve complex challenges

during cable installation, ensuring uninterrupted project progress

• While the Offshore Installation Manager (OIM) is the single point of contact, the

Cable Lay Superintendent maintains daily interaction with client representatives

during operations, addressing progress updates and technical queries

 

Technical Profile Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in submarine cable installation, including

several years in senior technician or equivalent roles

• Strong safety mindset with demonstrated commitment to safety procedures and

guidelines

• Proven leadership capabilities with excellent communication skills to manage

and motivate diverse teams

 

Non-Technical Profile Requirements

• Strong communication skills

• Good knowledge and experience with MS Office

• Good command of English, both written and spoken

• Medically fit for offshore work

Methodology / Certification Requirements

• MSc or BSc degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent experience

 

Required Certifications

• Valid US Visa or B1 OCS Wind Visa

• Full GWO certification

• Valid offshore medical certificate

• VCA or SCC certification

 

Language Proficiency

• Fluent in spoken and written English; proficiency in additional languages is a

strong advantage
